+ Sport a scuola
More movement, more play, more learning, more interdisciplinary activity, more socialization, more integration, more education, more health: all this is +Sport a Scuola (More Sport at School).
The +Sport a Scuola project is one of the Pietro Pittini Foundation’s initiatives, made possible thanks to collaboration with the University of Udine.
The aim of the project is to promote and increase playing and physical activity to improve the physical development of the young and thus provide a behavioural contribution to the healthy development of character and personality.
It is addressed to students of selected Institutes (Italians secondary schools) and aims to foster the positive values of sport.
Sport encourages respect, altruism, cooperation and solidarity. Sport harmonizes healthy growth and contributes to physical and mental well-being.
The programme includes two weekly sessions of two hours each, conducted by the institute’s own PE teachers assisted by selected colleagues from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports.
+Sport a Scuola is designed to explore many of the physical activities for which there is often no time in normal school hours. The various modules alternate with socialization sessions, carried out by experts in young people’s speech patterns and other innovative disciplines.
During 30% of the programme, the sport and physical activity also alternates with a youth communication laboratory that uses various media to address issues such as authority and authoritativeness, the difference between speaking and communicating, bullying and cyberbullying, and helps explore life skills.
+Sport a Scuola was launched in January 2018 and involved the students of Italian secondary schools in two “comprehensive” institutes in Trieste and Udine and ran until May 2018.
The 2018-2019 school year will see the project extended to 7 FVG secondary schools, partnered once again by the University of Udine, ASD Libertas, as regards physical activity, as well as Igor Damilano and the new partnership with Luca Gabrielli from Cooperativa La Collina of Trieste, who will help with the communication and bullying section.
Propose a project
We are always happy to learn about new projects and initiatives in order to promote and support those who are committed to creating social value.
This is why we select projects sure to make a social impact and introduce innovation, possibly centred on young people affected by the four areas of concern: poverty, health, education and economic development.
